Even though the label of most of them is with the jpg at the end, none of them are highlighted so I can't choose them. I just did some more searching and found them in the attachments folder of my mail program.
These had previously been converted on my old computer and were still viewable. The message is that it can't find the attachments. Anyway, it seems I've lost all those in transit from my old computer to my new one. I'm always meaning to gather them up and put them somewhere, but I never seem to find the time to deal with them. I went to a saved mailbag with emails I saved that have photos in them.

I just discovered another major problem when I was just looking for some other pictures to open (besides ones already in iphoto). I can't open some of mine where I had changed the label when I was working on them with the old computer either. The camera that's sending me the ones where the labels have stuff after the JPG is identical to the one I have. It will open photos as long as they have the JPG last, but not otherwise. Preview is acting the same way that iphoto does. Sorry this is so wordy, but I'm assuming the more info you have, the better it will be to figure out. Then it lists another message listing a number of other ones that it can't import, which apparantly includes the real picture. Compatible with All Operating Systems Windows 10, 8, 7, vista, xp Apple Mac 0SX and above BMW TIS. They look like ad photos for Cannon (the person who sent the photos has a cannon camera). It imported about 40 pictures with the word 'Cannon' on them. Now, I tried dragging the photo to the desk top, opened iphoto, and tried to import it from the desktop. I tried to open it from my email program and iphoto opens automatically already and gives me that message I mentioned in the last post.
